To commemorate National Youth Day in honor of Swami Vivekananda and to promote the values of democracy, voting rights, and electoral participation among the youth, an elocution competition was organized on January 10th in the Seminar Hall at Al Azhar college of engineering and technology. The event provided a platform for young voices to share their perspectives on democracy and responsible citizenship. The topic for the competition was Youth Participation in Elections. Five students participated, and two were selected to represent the institution at the district-level competition. The winners of this competition, Ruksana Fathima (S4 CSE) and Ganesh Raj (S4 CSE), received their prizes on January 25 at the Collectorate Conference Hall in Idukki.
